Hi, my name is Barbara Butler. As a life-long music lover and player, I took up the violin a few years ago. When it came time to have my bow rehaired, I discovered that there wasn't a business nearby that could provide this service. Not one to shy away from a challenge, I started to look into bow rehairing and in 2021 and 2022, under the expert guidance of master bowmakers Lynn Hannings and George Rubino, I learned bow rehairing and repair through the Violin Craftsmanship Institute at the University of New Hampshire. As well, I have pursued bow, frog and button making courses at Learning Trade Secrets in Ohio with bowmakers Rodney Mohr and Katherine A. Mohr (2024 and 2025).
I continue to take lessons, play in the Garden City Orchestra under the direction of Rosemary Hale, as well as in a chamber group. I appreciate all musical genres but have a particular interest in traditional fiddle music and classical works.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my site and I look forward to providing you with an excellent bow rehair and repair service.
